I have always been interested in painting and cinema. In my videos I always seek a kind of disturbance that draws images from common sense and dislocates them to their own strange place.
Inspired by Robert Wilson's Voom Portraits, I created this videoart for Fernando Arze's play "O que nos resta" directed by Cris Larin.
I would like to draw political tension and humor departing from Rio's euphoric era due to pre-Olympics and World Cup expectation.
The actor's in the pictures are:
Laura Limp, Tracy Segal, Fernando Arze and André Frazzi, whom I truly thank for this beautiful work.
Lighting was created by Ricardo Grings.
In 2008, during my course for Master's in Theatre, I attended the classes on Walter Benjamin and Aby Warburg by Ph.D. Professor Wolfgang Bock (visiting UNIRIO coming from Bauhaus University at Weimar).
Inspired by this classes I produced this video seeking to point a new glance on how language and communication affects us in everyday life.
My actors/performers/partners in this production were:
Pati Zini, Julia Brava, Evandro Manchini, Rossini Viana, Diogo Fujimura, Diógenes Apoema and also Prof. Bock who appears as guest.
Thank you all very much!
A-Faust video art
This is the video I created as studying material for my new show with the actor/performer Evandro Manchini.
Faust's world is tormented by the overwhelming feeling that he would never achieve true comprehension through knowledge.
Full video can be watched here:
The following videos were directed by me and created in collaboration and acting by my students at CAL (Laranjeiras' House of the Arts - Rio de Janeiro).
with Júlia Decache, Bruno Guerra and Rossini Viana.
with Andréia Rangel, Wanderlei Lemos, Bernardo Rebello and Nicolau Costta.
